Hope y'all had a good a thanksgiving. Sure is quiet around here. I went out on Double Eagle this Tuesday. It was rough but we caught a pile of fish. I had a 30" king, 15" hogfish and about 40 keeper grunts, porgies and sand perch. About 8 other people had keeper hogs. A good number of lanes caught by others including one slammer about 15". And a bunch of short red grouper.

Thanks for trying to stimulating some responses. It is sometimes hard to understand this forum and its members, and their reluctance to be involved.

I think it's not so much a reluctance to post as not having anything worthy to post. It's in the nature of successful fisherman to want to tell others about their success. Carlf caught some nice fish and did what most members would. Posted the story for others to read. If I went out and slayed some nice fish you would know. As it turns out I spent Thanksgiving with family and worked yesterday. Hence no fish story from me unless I tell a Fishtail. Yesterday I sent my nephew a pic of a nice snook I caught a year ago and he thought I just caught it until I told him I was at work and it was an old pic. He called me a Loser.

If we didn't have to work, we'd get in a lot more fishing! Anyone know how to post pics from the mobile version of a thread??

That's a nice mess of fish. Had some Hogfish in the Keys and ranks right up there for good eating. Nice to see pics. Enjoy.

I never really understood the method of not going fishing until you see a good report....
I would say atleast 70% of the time, the best bite occurs once the fish start to role in after having been inactive for a period of time. So if you are a person who only fishes once a report has been submitted, your missing out on the best action most of the time.
I recommend anyone who would wants a daily update to just create a facebook account, if you dont already have one, and join the misfits page. Someone is always sharing how skyway action is whether they do good or bad on pretty much a hourly basis.

I read on the Skyway Piers Homepage that it is MAINLY Skyway fishing and reports from anywhere are welcome, so I guess Carlf doesn't get the boot.

Posted by a guy that never fishes the piers, not much of a contribution, just boasting. If anyone wants reports from anywhere I suggest they join Fishing Stage, it's nationwide....carry on

If you don't appreciate my reports and advice and input (which is based on 45+ years of shore, boat and pier fishing, in both fresh and saltwater), please simply don't read them nor respond.

Any fishing reports is fine by me, being the piers are kinda slow now, I used to fish offshore and all around the flats off the skyway till family issues changed all that, Keep posting all the pics you want, I enjoy seeing them all.

As far as reports are concerned, let's face it, most fishermen brag about the BIG ones they caught, and not the 10-15 inch mangrove snappers or the 12-15 inch Spanish Macks. Yes these have value to the person catching them but to the average reader of this board? Not so much. It's fun to hear about the once in a lifetime Goliath or Tarpon, but how often does that happen? So maybe that is why we don't see daily fishing reports.

You don't see many because there's barely a handful of us that post here. Fish are being caught but lots of pier vets have learned to keep it quiet. The vultures read this forum, social media, and even call some baitshops to get info about our piers, but they never say anything....constantly on the hunt for fresh roadkill and then they swoop in and swamp the piers like the walking dead. Why should I help them?

Why should I help them? Very interesting, but hard to understand post: Is there really a problem with other fishermen finding out about fishing results? Does that affect anyone in a bad way? Could anyone really think that another fisherman going to the pier after finding out that at least some fish have been caught is going to affect you -- are you really going to catch a fish that you would have otherwise caught? Some might have thought that this forum was something of a community of fishermen who post not just to brag so that they look good -- but to share information that helps everyone here, and hurts nobody.

Maybe you've never visited the piers after someone posts pics of macks they caught, it's crazy out there, and not exactly safe. They are not your friends despite your assumption that everyone came out for a warm embrace

They are not your friends despite your assumption that everyone came out for a warm embrace A tale as old as time. If you cannot handle combat fishing and telling someone to take a hike because they crowd your spot after you leave to unhook your spanish mack. Buy a boat... ive seen plenty for 2k on FB marketplace that are skyway worthy. If you fish the skyway 200 days a year you already pay it off just from tolls/fees.

Maybe you've never visited the piers after someone posts pics of macks they caught, it's crazy out there, and not exactly safe. They are not your friends despite your assumption that everyone came out for a warm embrace I think that you say overestimate the numberof fishermen at the piers who follow this forum and are there because of reading a positive report. I have mentioned this forum to numerous fishermen while fishing there, and I have yet to find one who knew about this forum. Also,I have fished several times after positive reports here, and I never experienced problems due to crowding. The only thing close has been when I checked out the very end of the piers, but I never felt that the fishing was really that good at the end to bother with the more crowded situation. There are a couple miles of the SSP, so there are always places that are uncrowded -- unless you won't fish anywhere except at the very end. I have to admit that I almost never fish on weekends, so crowding then may be greater then, but it still can be largely avoided unless one will fish only at certain spots. Bottom line to me is that crowding is not a good excuse for not sharing information to this relatively small community

Odd....didn't know that was required. Is that a forum rule or a wild fantasy you have? Shotgun will deny any affiliation with this fourm but spends more time here than 98% of the users and comments on just about every thread. Small dick syndrome is brewing. Ill toss it up to shotgun having a mental breakdown and needing to convince himself that he truly knows how to catch a 12in spanish mac without help or others input.... i know it must take alot of brain power to make that happen.
