well i decided to give my normal spot a try since its been a few weeks. baitshop had only small shrimp, so i take a gamble and pass on live bait. with a million cars ,i knew the fish were atleast there the day before! i take a look and see about 4 people with bent rods. so i grab my gear and off i go. first cast, yellow jig, pink fly. and i got a mac. lots of cutoffs.hooked a few more macs. then i hook up with a line screamer, and the nice people got out of the way, cause this thing put up a fight. then in comes my best pomp so far. dang that thing was good on the grill!! then totay.....................no fish. gone as fast as they came. a few trout. and a lady got a big ol permit.

I'm afraid to ask any questions after the "braid incident" But Im assuming that you have to have a boat to get out to the outflow of the plant. Would that be a correct assumption? Second, I was down at John's Pass last Thurday, slipped into Hubbards. I've been look'n 4 some goofy jigs but was having a hard time finding them. Anyway they had them in Hubbards, but they only had orange and pink. So I opted for the orange (good/bad?). What kind of "fly teaser" do you put on them, and where do I start looking for them? I apoligize now 4 throwing more questions on the table. We'll probably all pay for these later this evening? LOL

Don't be afraid to ask questions bro, just let all that stuff slide off your back I like pink, yellow, or the combination of the 2 with a white backing. Most all the local shops sell the teasers now, Try Gandy, Betts ect. Somebody'll have em. You can rig em where the fly rides up and down your line, or loop knot em at the Jig. I'll let somebody else answer the qestions you have on Anclote. It's been a few years since I went there last. Good luck.

The last one I bought had the teaser on it. I think I got it at Southereastern.

The last one I bought had the teaser on it. I think I got it at Southereastern. That's where I buy mine too. They have a teaser on them, but they also sell the teasers separately in a bag with 4 or 5.

so what do you do for this fish? Ive seen people on the way out to ft desoto just flicking lures up and down is that the way you guys fish for em too or is there another way. Working the lure that way seems a little mundane

I was going to say that. I was down a Betts today on my lunch and they had another brand of them called silly willy so I picked up a few in yellow also bought some pink (only color they had) teaser flys. But they had some already rigged and the fly was going the same way as the jig. was going to ask about that.

I like to put my teaser on the line first, then tie my Silly willy or Doc's on with a loop knot. The pr-rigged jigs are tied together. Word of caution, that second hook can be dangerous when removing a fish, especially if it doing some flopping around.
