I have spent a lot of time on piers in florida and never seen a trigger caught. I dont believe you will see to many when bottm fishing in the gulf anymore. I use to see them whent i went deep sea f fishing a lot in florids in the 80,s but not to many i left i dont believe.

I see a good bit of the grays still while diving. Actually shot a nice size one a couple of weeks ago. Will catch one on hook and line everyonce in awhile out in the gulf. Never really see them in shallow though. Used to be to catch them on shrimp in the gulf frequently. Only problem with shrimp is it wont last too long with all the grunts.
