I had a thought that it would be great if we came up with a bumper sticker or window decal that would signify a Pier Rat. It's hard to remember who is driving what when but you see a "sticker" you know it's one of us. It could be any "sticker" that we can find that is unique and in enough quantity that we pick up enough for every one that wants one. Just a thought. ;D

This has come up before, and seems to get forgotten. Your right there is no way to remember who drives what. Even thought of a window flag, like the ones you see for the Bucs. Problem with that is there are alot of us that leave their windows down, but it would be much more visible on the pier. Then you got the cost issue and a way for people to get them. I don't think the Baitshop would allow us to let people pick them up there. But who know's. Maybe you should start anothe poll. To me I think poople should have their Screename on them.

Saw one yesterday that said "Id rather be fishing at the Skyway Piers" and had the pier logo on it. I thought it was pretty kewl and was gonna see if they had em at the baitshop, but then forgot. That sticker doesnt differentiate a pier fisher from a forum member, but it was still cool though. Once we decide on what forum to stick to, a simple sticker with the forum URL added to it would be cool. It could lead to more people joining and posting, too.

Right, I was thinking it could be anything, just as long as we all have the same thing. I'll look on line for some odd ball decal, that way it is cheap, and of course if it is a rat so much the better. When sighted on the pier I'll just ask their name when I walk up... because we already have something in common. You never know there might be one of us out there that might have a solution; new people have joined recently like me.

How about going to a sign shop and getting a rat walking on the pier. It might only be like 20 bucks each (not sure) but we can have one person do that and pay the person who originally bought them.
Just a thought.

:DI think this is a great idea find a pic of a rat we can all agree on and we can each print it out and bring to either the oldsmar or wagon wheel flea market (whichever you choose) there are always a few vendors that make custom window decals...

if it were a window decal or bumper magnet i'd definetly go with it. i know their are websites where you can upload your image and they send it to you, however many you want for a fairly decent price. and it would be cool to have the personal touch of your forum name on it.

I could go for that, a magnet would seem cool but it would create a risk of getting stolen. However for someone to steal somethiing like that has got to be a dirtbag. The art image of a rat would be cool. Personally i am not one for buperstickers but a window decal would be excellent something about 6" that could be placed in an upper or lower section of a rear window or a rear door window. as long as it doesnt create a distraction of the applied vehicals driver.

It would be pretty cool to have our own bumper sticker, but that would definitely take some time to not only agree upon the design and create, but to distribute to everyone. Obviously, it would cost something too.
I think the fastest way to get this idea off the ground immediately is simply for everyone to pickup one of the skyway pier decals that are free in the bait shop and then cut the corners to make it look like an isosceles trapezoid. (I had to look that up) If you google that, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. We should make an angled cut so that about an inch is taken off of each side of the lower edge. That way, it will be easy to spot, and those who do not want to put a bumper sticker on their car can simply scotch-tape it to the rear window when fishing.
This way, this idea can be in full effect within a week, instead of becoming forgotten again.
Thoughts?

Cutting the bumper sticker would work, certainly for the short term.
Bigwman, why don't you throw something together and post it. Voting on it can be very simple, just a thumbs up or down and I suspect that we could get a sign shop here in town, possibly close to SkyWay that each person can stop by and buy there own. I would bet we could get them for aprox. $5 if they are in the 4" range for a single color window sticker, maybe a little more for more colors or cut out type.
We could add the wording "Pier Rat" or "Skyway Pier Rat"

I know in the past when big groups of fisherman have gotten together on the outerbanks for a surf fishing event they just tie a ribbon on their truck antennas. It's real cheap and an easy way to identify a fellow forum member. Not as cool as a decal, but very practical. How about a PBR on everyones' antenna

I have a yellow ribbon on my antenna ever since our tropps headed to the middle east. Sometimes a pier rat but always support the troops. So if you see a yellow ribbon....stop and say HI

i think untill we decide what we do, the ribbon idea is a great idea at least until this is hashed out. but it needs to be consistant.

Festeroo, I think the one I saw was red but it gave you the option of changing the color.
Bigwman, That totally works draw it and they will come and I will buy 10 @ $1 and put them in the truck and people that want one can just pay me and then when they are gone I'll get more. Hell I bet if we asked BigMike he might be able to help out the logistics as well.
I can't wait to see your drawing.
