Hey blacktip, The last Harnell catelogue lists the following for the 521: 1 Piece, Length 5'6', Butt dia .578, Tip dia 12, Weight 6 1/4 Oz, Rec Max Line 40#. By the way, I measured that 550 and it's 7'8" including the gimbal. Try to get some pics next week. Don't have any 521s but do still have 3-HO30's. They have nearly the same rating but are longer and bigger around at the butt. Could be cut down to be just like a 521. The blanks are on sale right now for $63.00. If you're looking at one that is 6'6" it probably has a wooden, detachable handle.

Hey Jay,
Don't know about bein' an expert, Just outlived most of the people that would question what I say. Sometimes with all of the new regs and bridge closings I think I may have lived too long.
Hey man, one of these days this spring we got to get together at the bridge. I'd love to float a bait for one of those toothy critters or try to drag a gag off the rubble with ya. Nice warm evening with an outgoing tide when flipper is on vacation....
