I Reckon It Kinda Depends On How Early Ya Gettin Up There JM. There's a a virtual PLETHORA, of Perfect Bait, Hangin Behind The Lights , At The Restraunt/Boardwalk, at Hudson "Beach" Right Now... Shrimps, Mullets, Mud Minners ECT...\i (Tip A DOC'S Jig, wit sum GULP, and drift the outflow, and yer in, on the Permitos/Pompanots!) Best spot is the floating Dock, adjacent to the pier, but you proly alreadyknew tha hugh? (NO TRESSFIHIN... lol) Hope Ya Find Some swimps

thanks sj , but i wasnt up for catchin my bait .so i counted on the baitshops, they were closed[ got to the pp and the water was freezin, no warm outflow, that CANT be good. there was about 10 people there so i picked a good spot and threw my green doa.no luck. take a break, put on a stinky blurp shrimp in electric chicken and first cast a fat trout about 19" , take the hook out and let it swim off:] after that i only seen 2 more trout caught and thasts it.so i took a walk under the pier at lowtide liftin some rocks, and find a wierd shrimp with one big claw. looked more like a shrimp than a crayfish. might be a mutant from the powerplant? then found a starfish hangin to the barnicles.. i got some pics ill post later.walked out past the pier and didnt catch $hIp;[ oh, and out in the middle of the water right in front of me this eagle dives at an ospray tries steelin his fish, drops the fish, and them and a pellican all try go get the fish. guess who wins? yep, the bald eagle. too bad i didnt have my good camera!

That may have been a mantis shrimp. I have seen those by the johns pass before. There use to a dock you could fish from on the south side inter coastal side of the bridge. I don't believe it is there anymore but i use to see them swimming around them. I tried to post a google web images link nut it didn't work . Just google mantis shrimp on images.
