I guess my stepdad is going to give me his 14 foot john boat that he has on the suwannee river, its got a nice little motor and a trolling motor and trailer and its lite enough to tow with my mustang. A little small so i have to stay in shore and watch the reports on the wave size but its gonna be awesome. Gonna get my dad to install a live well and maybe a turn that into a platform in the front also

I have a 14' john boat with a 15HP Evinrude and it is a great fishing boat for two people. I wish I had towed it to Anna Maria last week after seeing how smooth the Gulf and the bay were. If the one you're getting is aluminum like mine I don't see the need for a livewell since I'm so close to the water. I use a large cooler for the catch and a 5 gal. plastic bucket with aerator for bait. I like the freedom to move things around when doing different types of fishing. I think you'll enjoy the boat and how easy it is to handle one that size. You're right about watching the weather though. Good luck.

Congrats on your boat tyler. I was given a 15' alum boat with a 15hp merc on it a few years back and I love that lil boat. Gets into some tight spots and can still handle some choppy water. Im sure you will love your boat, have fun with it and stay safe.
