Common Sense...
Can't buy it.
Can't sell it.
Can't learn it.
Can't teach it.
Hell, you can't even give it away.
It's one of them things in life you either got it, or you don't.
Some of the DUMBEST people, I ever knew in my life,
turned out to be the SMARTEST people at the end of the day.
It is what it is.
Much has been made this month, concerning the new rules, and regulations.
Thought it might be a good time to bring up some of the old rules, that some folks seem to be forgetting to.
(ENFORCE THAT)
The new rules/changes, rather right or wrong were intended to enrich the enjoyment of the SkyWay Pier experience for everyone, and insure everyone's safety (LMFAO)
Young, or Old...
Pier "Rat"...
Or, Pier "Cat"...
Republican, or Democrat...
Local, or Tourist...
RV, Or MP3... (LMFAO)
Flip- Flops, Boots, or BareFoot...
Pier Employee, or PAYING CUSTOMER...
Who gives a poo, right?
F-350, Or Volkswagon Bug...
5 MPH, speed limit.
2 Sticks per head.
No harvest of undersize, over bag limit, or out of season fish.
No Profanity.
No littering, and Please Dispose unwanted monofailment fishing line in designated area.
No Peein Over the side, (Into the wind) LOL,
And No climbin the damn fence, or otherwise compromising FDOT's sneaky $$$ little plan.
No Loud Music.
No Tresspassing.
No Chocolotte Milk, or chewing Gum.
No useless slaughter of beneficiial baitfish.
No Cast Nets beyond designated areas.
No pickin on DogFish, ToadFish, StingRays, LizzardFish, CatFish, Puffers, SeaRobins, FileFish, CowFish, or Pigeons.
Don't F with Flipper, And don't throw yer fricken ciggarette butts in the water!
Don't Feed The Birds... (Or the Rats)
No Fire Arms. No Fire Works. No tents. No open flames, grills Etc.
No Skateboards.
No acting like a complete idiot/moron.
No smiling, no breathing, and no using more than 3 squares of toilet paper at a time.
If you hook a Gull or a Pelican, whatever you do, PLEASE, Don't cut the line!
Oh, and God forbid, NO ALCHAHOLIC BEVERAGESES!!!
(Especially in glass bottles???)
In the days, and weeks.
Months and years.
Seasons, and tides.
Year after year.
Visitor, after Wo-BeGone Traveler.
"Regular" (LOL), or Weekend Warrior.
I've personally witnessed all of these rules broken, and to be honest have done my share over the years of lookin over my shoulder for the man.
Never seen the first ticket get wrote. ( heard a few stories though)
Never got a ticket.
Put up with more bulls#@t, than a family man oughrta a had to.
But kept on castin.
It all comes down to common sense.
You either know how to act.
Or, you don't know how to act.
You're either socially inept, or socially acceptable/available.
I honestly don't think that these rules were intended to cramp anyone who frequents the local messageboards/pier lovers/regular's style.
In contrast, I am of the opinion, that given time (with the exception of closing the East span, which we all know is bulls&%t)
WILL work to everyone who loves the SkyWay Fishing Pier's advantage.
Granted...
The system isn't perfect.
But for now it's the ONLY system we got!
(And imagine if you will where we would be with no regulatory authority.) (Now I'm laffin)
Rules, are rules.
Laws, are Laws.
Rules, and Laws, keep Society in check.
Without 'em... We are ALL Screwed.
And common Sense Say's, If'n You know how to act...
(IE, Drive carefully, slow, andbe respectful to other pier visitors)
You ain't gotta worry about the rules.
If the day, or family fun species you are fishin for dictates 3, or 20 poles dead stickin the bottom, to fill your cooler, then so be it.
The rule, is aimed at the real estate agents
who think it's "KOOL" to claim a "stake" on a spot,
when the pier is packed, and the flavor of the week is just passin through...
(Spanish Macks, Bone Heads, Migratory Species ETC.)
By Stickin 8, or 10 poles out from St. Pete To Palmetto, like they think 8, or 10 bucks covers thier rent for the day!
That is bull%#it. (Them Rockpiles belong to all of us, and CAN be responsibly shared, if'n you educate the ignorant.)
I mean Hell, Take A look at Egmont Channel, Or Boca Grande Pass. (Talk about insane!)
Them folks not only don't know how to act, they are now, (according to rumor/law/rules, and regulations, are a thing of the past.
Just like the asshooooles who go rippin up and down the pier at 30, or 40 with no regard for anyone's safety.
Common Sense People !!!!
Drive CareFul, and You Won't Get A Ticket.
You Can Only Reel One line In At A Time.
More Poles Does Not Equal More Landed Fish.
And This Post, ( If You Have COMMON SENSE, probably doesn't appl to you.)
But just in case it does...
Slow Your Ass Down, and learn how to act!
ONE MAN - ONE ROD
Common Sense...

Hell, You can't even give it away.
At the end of the day, "It Is What It Is"
