Finally found some free time. Hit the SSP from 4 -7 pm. Found plenty of bait in the shallows. Checked in with "filletnrelease" on the way to "alley". Not much happening near the baitshop area. Set up and braved the winds and choppy waters. 3 grouper up to 21, so close yet so so far, 2 cats, 1 blue, big grunt, and 1 keeper (11) Mango but tossed em back. Better than being skunked. Need a Bonehead fix and you all know who I'm talking to. Tight lines guys (and girls).
P.S. Skyjay was right. Watch your speed (5 mph). Johnny Law is writing people right and left. Saw it first hand. But that's a good thing. Too many people driving too fast with too many little fisherman on the pier. Should have been done a long time ago.

I hear you David, I was out there last night and I guess I never realized it, but at idle my jeep runs about 13 mph in first gear. So it was interesting.... you don't realize how SLOW 5 mph is until you have to run the length of the NSP. I don't even want to think about running the SSP at 5 mph. I was actually "coasting" about 10 mph. But I always slow down to nothing when I come up on people fishing... especially with kids around. But I agree.. I don't need to drive all the way from Spring Hill and after all is said get a ticket for speeding on the pier. I definitely would not be happy. Money is tight enough the way it is.
Nice report FOFO you did a little better then we did.

It might be that the authorities are trying to stop us from fishing on the piers bit by bit. First they limit us to half the fishing area for absolutely no solid reason, and now they are writing us expensive tickets for driving on what's left of the piers. Most other states , or I should say Countries, would appreciate those piers for what they are, and improve their appeal instead of trying to make a waste of everything. I know I'm not unique in my feelings about all that is going on, but at the same time, we should not think of those law-makers as evil. After all, they might only be morons.
