Whats the easiest way to stop circle hooks from double hooking live bait? Every time I send out a pinfish on a circle hook, the hook point digs in to the bait fish, wounding it to the point that it becomes useless as a live bait. I remember reading something about a piece of foam or plastic or something you can put on the hook to stop this from happening...but I dont remember the technique or how to do it...
I googled with no luck.
Any help?

I think I seen somebody on TV bite off a small peice of plastic bait, like a jerk bait, and stick it on the point of the hook.

They make little soft beads we use on greenbacks so it doesn't fowl up. I think SouthEastern may have them. Hook em through the nose or from the inside of the mouth out the top around nose. I don't really get fouled up at all like this it's when you hook em above the head or through the anal fin thats when you get fouled. Hope this helps!!

Yeah it happens when I hook em by the anal fin when freelining pins. The hook point digs into their stomach. The beads are what I was lookin for. Thanks
