Sorry for the late report, busy weekend! Fished Fort DeSoto on Saturday morning. Arrived at the Gulf Pier when it opened. Water was cloudy with lots of floating seaweed. There was nice 3-4" greenies and white bait at the first T but they were deep and not easy to net unless you had a big heavy net. Saw others catching some on sabikis. Saw a people catch pinfish and a small lane, I did not see anyone catch any keepers. No macs. Went to the Bay Pier about 10am. Water was calmer and more clear but still a little dingy. No bait. Lots of guys fishing for pompano. I went to the end and fished the T. Caught a couple of short grouper, 2 ladyfish and the biggest white/sand trout I've seen in years. No macs.

Whoaaa!!! That sand white trout is really big.
I went to the Ft. DeSoto on Sunday at Gulf pier between 5-7pm. Bait was deep and hard to get. I try to snapper fish and caught nothing but pins.
My friend manage to hook up with 4 pomps between 4-5pm. 2 keeper/2 toss.
We went to try the bay pier between 7-8pm. Ran into a legend pier rat and he said he fished all day Sunday at the bay pier. He caught nothing and he usually catches everything.
No reports of Mac’s at skyway either.

Both Saturday and Sunday featured poor tides that may explain the results.

The current was definitely weak that morning.
