Got there at 11am to secure a spot at the end but some people beat me to it and parking was full so I had to park further away but I still got a open spot. A fisherman brought one of those small generators and some sort of light and lit up a part of the bridge. Then they threw some live bait and started catching macs. I started to join in and caught 3 decent size macs In the 17" range. About 18 macs were caught between several fisherman. Activity died about 5am. Decided to get some shut eye before the main event. At 7 threw some spoons and after a few casts got hooked. In about 2 hours time caught my remaining 12 Macs ranging from 13" to 22" The Mac activity died at about 9 with 1 or 2macs bieng caught every hour. Some Bonita came through at 10 but couldn't get some action. Was windy and at incoming tide. Casting with a bobber was difficult. There was an altercation were someone took out a whole machete on someone else over a spot where they didn't respect the persons personal space but nothing came out out of it. Stay safe out there brothers and fish on. Picture to follow.

11am or did you mean 11pm?
Dam! A machete? And throw some salt water in that box. It’ll help keep those macs cold and fresh. Don’t forget to bleed them.

I was at NSP from 11-3. Nothing until about 1, then caught 8 smaller 12-15” Mack’s on a small spoon within 10 feet of the pier. Caught them by casing along the pier using the tide to help drift it. Suuuuper sandy water because of that north bound wind, but the tides were strong enough to bring some cleaner water in. That’s what I looked for when casting, because if I could see the bait under the pier so could the mackerel.
Only a handful of people were out. Saw some rays come by. Good day

Good day I was finding a lot of Mack’s close to the pier as well, finding open stretches and casting a long side the pier then even opening my bail and walking down further away from my spoon to give myself more room to work with

Night time mack action is always a blast, but I get disappointed when I limit out at night and have nothing to do for the rest of the next day hahah ! I have had no luck with those bonitas lately I just wanna hook one on a 4K spinning reel and hear that drag scream 😂

I’m not Bonita expert but this is how I hook up with one a few days ago. As soon as I saw someone hook up with one. I grab a ton of dead greenvaxkw and start throwing them into the water and chumming it up. I’ll cast my biggest greenback into the chum line and loosen my drag a bit to ensure it runs out when hooked up. I keep on chumming the water till I hook up. Sometime it takes only a minute, sometime a bit longer.

I wanted some Bonita action with my rod with a 4000 reel but had no luck. Left early as I didn't want to wait.
