I’m going to be fishing skyway pier in May . I use a 7ft med heavy rod . 6000 size reel . I took the course for fishing the pier . What color line should I use ? Will a high-low be productive? Fish finder? What size hooks should I use ? What fish are commonly caught in May ? I know these are a lot of questions, and I really appreciate your answers !! Thanks , Corky

I use hi-vis green on all my rods these days. Lot easier to see and it does not seem to impact the number of fish I catch. If fishing for specs or snapper, I normally use a flourocarbon leader anyway. Rig depends on what you are fishing for. For snapper, grunts, sheepshead, a carolina rig. I use light wire circle hooks, #1 to 2/0, depending on bait size. For macs, spoons, bubble rigs, jigs, gotchas, etc., or live bait on a heavy mono leader w/a #1 hook. Just about everything bites in May; macs, sheepshead, snapper, etc..
