Drove up from Naples to meet a friend and fish a few hours. Decent bait still... looks for the pods. Got 4 nice Mack's on the Cotten Cordell spoon 1/2 oz. Lots of Bonita (False Albacore) blowing up... mostly in the 75/100 yard range. I would think floating baits on weighted floats would do well. I'd keep the leader relatively short...4/5 ft. Hooked up two...pulled one off and got one in and to surface...but couldn't flip on a light setup. (Also..recovering from wrist surgery last week...still had 7 staples in..lol) Probably saw 20+ Bonita hit the surface in 4 hours. Get out there and have fun!
Down in Naples...our pier has still not started to be replaced yet. Local beaches/bridges...Pompano have been hitting past couple months. October... lots of limits.

Strange, I thought for sure those albies would be gone by now. Ha, no thanks on the drift method, I see no chance of drifting a bait through the largest concentration of dolphins on the west coast of the peninsula
