I've seen a couple out there that can throw a perfect pancake on every attempt and bring up gobs of bait...me I hold the pier record for most bananas on most attempts...very embarassing. So, who on here can sling a perfect circle off the pier? 8ft. net minimum

Look up the triple load technique. Very effective on bigger nets. I throw 10-12 footers from the pier with ease

Some days I can throw great, other days it's one banana after another. I've seen guys use the hang the net over the tail, hold it by the ringand spin it. Then jerk up and release.

I have used that spin technique with marginal success, very effective when the bait is hugging the pier, but, being the absolute physical speciman I am.... with a mule head, I keep trying to throw them pancakes

The spin method works for me sometimes with a smaller net, biggest problem is I'm left handed and most how to videos are for right handers.I get so damn confused trying to convert that mess, must be a geezer thing. lol

Spin net work easy... but you need to untangle it first.
spin either way work.. then pull and drop. The pull forces the net to open more before dropping down.
Most people issue with castnet at the pier because of the height. I can throw pancake easy on the flats and stuff but do only ok at the pier. It open up and then slowly closes... Now I learn that if I angle the net when throwing it toward the water it opens better.
