Got to fort Desoto gulf pier around 8am. Current was ripping, to the north. Bait was schooled up around the middle T. Little greenies and white bait. Drop a sabiki and catch 2-5 at a time. Trickier to cast net, they were staying a little deep, but managed to catch about a gallon to vacuum pack for snapper and Mac fishing and chum. Only saw two small jacks caught. I had no bites flat lining live baits or on a bubble rig. Flipper and flipper junior were patrolling. Left after two hours when my wife got back from picking shells.

Good to see a report from Ft. Desoto for a change...appears you fished during a falling tide.

Yep, it was pouring out of the bay!

Tide chart shows average tides on Sunday with a coefficient of 59 in the morning, not exactly a ripper. Coefficients up around 100 are full blown rippers. That's a bottleneck there so tides are most likely stronger, I don't fish there so I don't know

It's right at the mouth at the bay, so even when the tide coefficient is relatively low, the currents can be ripping.

Yep, it was pouring out of the bay! I generally try to fish there on a rising tide. Seems better then.
