Took the boat out to the Gandy today. Glad I bought shrimp, could not find little greenies or whitebait In my usual spot. It was rough, northeast wind and a rising tide. Fished at least 10 sets of piles in 8'-20' of water, went through 3 dozen shrimp. Didn't catch a single snapper or Mac. One barely keeper female Black Sea bass is all I brought home. Got two 10.5" pompano, needed my fish stretcher to get that last 1/2 inch. Got a few pinfish and a few puffers. No grunts, no lanes, no jacks. One of the worst days I've ever had on the Gandy

Those were the first pompano I have caught at the Gandy in the 4 years I've been fishing here. I was quite surprised, they were both caught in 18' of water.

Any recommendations on where to find them more consistently? Thanks! Just try different spots.. they might be there one day and gone the next. Jigs are probably the fastest way to scout for them.
