All of spoon. They are definitely here. Ain’t that somethin.. I spooned up n down ssp for hours throughout today.. didn’t hook or see a single Mack all day.. managed a few nice snapper and a small gag and decided to stick it out.. funny how one pier can be completely void of any mack activity while the other one is full of life

I’ve had those days too. I was in the SSP for an hour and realize it’s a bad idea. Went to the north. They ate at the end of the pier.
I will try again tomorrow around 2pm.

The cutoffs were insane. About 7 total. Lost a lot of spoon. Most was on the pause. Leader line was about 10ft. Varying slots in the leader from the point of the spoon to the middle to near the weight. My technique is not good.
The macs were schooling. That’s probably the only reason I caught them.

Sometime they hit the weight, especially if there is a big school & feeding frenzie going on. Were they deep or near the surface? Bubble rigs work well when they are worked up and in a frenzie, few cut off too.

I fished the SSP for the past two days with no luck. After no luck with the Mack’s on ssp I adjusted and started fishing the rocks with some luck, managed 3 keeper snapper ranging from 12-15in a keeper blacksea bass, a few large grunts, and a small gag. The water looked dirty, and anytime I tried to keep pinfish in my livewell they would die after a couple minutes even with constant water changes.

I’m bummed out I didn’t trust my gut once again and hit the north pier, I caught some fish but would have preferred to get on a hot Mack bite

It would be great if some of you could tell the rest of us what day, time, and tide status those were caught. Thanks in advance/ They were hitting beginning of outgoing tide at 2pm yesterday. On the gulf side at the end cap corner. They moved toward the toll both by 6pm. And stop eating at 7:30pm. But today, I had only 1 cutoff and have not landed any. I guess they moved to somewhere today because I try looking for them up and down the pier for a few hours.

Thanks so very much...what a great guy to reply so soon and honestly. I was thinking that I just have to go tomorrow afternoon and was almost sure I would catch a few macks for a dinner or two. Now I don't know what to think. I if you have any other information from the rest of today, or if others do from today, please let us know. Again, thanks for being so helpful.

It’s almost 7pm. I only landed 2 small macs and a blue fish. No feeding frenzy today.
