www.skywayfish.com/I am going to ensure we have a reliable, free place to get together. The new domain is up, and the old messageboard is completely archived over there. Site design and new forum will have to wait a day or so. Please bookmark the above site and stay tuned. Long live the sunshine skyway culture!

Check the legalities before you archive the property of www.skywaypiers.com/Something to think about John

Public domain because its in a public forum. I am a Software Architect, and went to our legal department to verify just now The nice thing, is this server is on a 100Mbit connection and is an actual dedicated machine, not a space rental. Heck, it even has twin diesel generators in case of power failure. I plan on giving it a good effort, if it isn't adopted, no worries. Cheers

Ask your legal department about hosting an archive of the Myspace Forum I bet you get different answer

Same thing, you just cant reproduce anything with copywrite or trademarks without written consent. It could be done, just strip out the graphics and any trademark phrases (or give credit for trademark names at the bottom). Besides, who would waste time bugging someone about public domain fishing message board data? No one with any power / brains. I wouldnt mess with Myspace, last I knew they were based off a really crummy ColdFusion / PHP code base anyhow.

Thanks to both of you for really trying to get us the best site possible. Is there a way to incorporate this current board into the site? My concern remains about to much bouncing around and losing members.

Yeah, the bouncing around part is the downfall of them pulling the plug without a plan.
My whole thought on it is, while this forum is nice enough, its by no means permanent, and its lmited. They could go belly up tommorrow, or start injecting so much banner /popups that its not worth the hassle. With a dedicated server, the sky is the limit. Like I said before, I don't even need to be a moderator, I am just happy to provide a platform and let it carry on.
Although its a pain, I would recommend a manual copy / paste of important posts to the new home.

Yeah I didn't mean to link to this, I meant to import this data to a new board. Copy/Paste would work too.

I will offer to assist in that process. I doubt I could write anything automated (code) in less time that it would take to move the important posts manually. I suppose the key here is picking a home in the next few days. Good job keeping everyone together.
