The first trial went well. Perfect amount of volume. Cooler $15, 12v pump $8 and few fittings. Starting is manual, suck on the hose till pump is flooded with water, I’ll make this easier later. My trolling battery is in the back of my yak as will this live well. Wiring will be easy.

Don’t really have a problem keeping shrimp alive.

Threadfins? Those suckers will die in minutes in a livewell Whitebait, what ever I can catch for kings. I have transported threadfins back to my house and kept them alive for a few weeks. Not the easiest but can be done

not to pee on your fire but is it round or square? Unfortunately rectangular. I will angle the return to create circular motion. But finding a round insulated cooler isn’t out of the question.

Scaled sardines, big eyes, big shiny scales, tough baitfish. There are threadfin herring there as well, small eyes, small scales, big rooster tail on dorsal fin, both good baits. Threadfins don't fair well in a live well that's crowded. But you can pack scaled sardines in and they don't mind

try to round off yer corners by gluing some plexi glass or simular material, so's the bait swims a circular motion instead of jamming up in the corners. Theyll live way longer. We're able to keep Threadies alive in our circulating well for a little while, but not more than a few hours. Less is more in this case, dont overcrowd the well. But Parks 100% right, Scaled Sardines AKA Pilchards/Whitebait/Greenies are waaaay hardier. I prefer Threadfins for Kingers tho. Just gold hook a few at a time. My buddy padlles out at ft d and anchors, and freelines for Kings. Dont overlook tge recently demo'd Reddington Pier area either if you can get in there.
