Tired of losing sinker rigs with 40lb test PP, just too much stress on that line constantly throwing those heavy sinkers. Upgraded my most used to 50lb(8ft heavy action teramar, 4500 BG, 4oz sinker). 65lb on my big rig(8ft xtra heavy teramar 5000 BG, 5-6oz sinker). Can still sling both to the ends of the rockpiles which is not necessary considering macks usually run just off the pier, going back tomorrow, let's go get some

bro man throw that power pro in the trash and get you some 8 strand J Braid 😬 Purchased some off of Ebay (J Braid 8 strand) over the weekend, some really good deals out there. I usually get the 4 strand from Walmart which is already less $ than Power Pro. This was an even better deal and I think the 8 is supposed to be more round, like mono.

I tried that Wal-Mart junk, that crap broke throwing a bubble bobber, couldn't get it off my reels fast enough. I'll try anything once

I tried that Wal-Mart junk, that crap broke throwing a bubble bobber, couldn't get it off my reels fast enough. I'll try anything once I've used it for over a year now, never had any issues. I only use the 30 lb though for my medium and light action setups.

I tried the 50lb j braid and I kept getting break offs in the middle of my line while fighting fish that were pulling drag. Between my rod tip and the water sometimes. I went back to powerpro, which I’ve never had problems with

man i love that stuff you guys are the first negative reviews ive ever encountered. sorry about the throw the power pro in the trash comment, that was out of line. I fished power pro for years, and was one of the earliest advocates using braid to freeline for Grouper back in the beginning. i can remember when people scoffed at the idea of using braid for macks and kings even. alot has changed. that dang fg knot opened alot of doors for me. I used to be the loudest hell no on the boat when it came to braid offshore. But like they say, even an old dog can learn new tricks. Know this though, i really do mean well when I weigh in on the various topics being discussed here. And I'm only trying to help. Please dont mistake my comments for any more than just that. My well meaning opinion. No offense intended. Fish On Guys. Time fir the Big Moon In June Smackdown! whooo hoooo!

I agree with the Fg knot. It is the best knot I have found for braid to mono/flouro transition. Flows through the guides better than any other knot and cuts down on wind knots.
