Well my daughter and I went back to the SSP today to continue the Mango and Grouper marathon we started on Wednesday. The bite was a little slower today but we managed one keeper mango before the storms chased us out. Well they tried to chase us away but my battery died on us so we waited for an hour or so for the rain to stop so I could get someone to help. Tried flagging down 3 different people before some good samaritan stopped to give us a jump. anyway back to the fish...we caught 17 of those 10-12" skinny macks today along with a handful of short mangos and juvenile grouper. Did manage one nice gag that was about 1-1/2" too short to be dinner. They are getting progressively bigger so the next one should be a keeper. The gag had someone elses hook and leader still in his mouth which I removed for him after he posed for this picture. All in all another fun day with daddy's little girl! ;D

Forgot to mention I hooked a fish that was either an udersized gag or large snapper but after about 1 minute the little bugger straightened the hook. Was a lot of fun on spinner gear though!

Yep, it's what makes life great. I sat through that storm too, it was a real bugger. Those little Macks were ruthless. Couldn't get a cast back without a fish on. Did finally manage a few keepers down by the Y. Not bragging fish but they fit nicely on the smoker. Great report Bigdawg.

Went back out Saturday night and didn't do so well.We tried a different spot since our regular one was taken and it was not too good. Caught our limit on catfish, ladyfish and pinfish but no snapper. Also ended up losing my net to a big pile of rocks between the two piers. It got caught pretty good and all the strings broke off. i have a good idea where it is and may try to go back with a big snag hook and some rope to at least salvage the lead.
