Where are all the fish???!!! After striking out last weekend in the morning, decided to give the afternoon a go from 4-7. Minimal bait fish, dirty water, and pesky pinfish made for an uneventful day. At least I got to see a nice sunset and enjoy good company.

pinfish44: I listened to the fishing report on WFLA 970 early Saturday morning. Paul Bristoe from the Skyway piers mentioned that the water at the NSP is dirty while the SSP is much more clear. Thanks for the report, sorry the action was bad.

We have the same issue down here in Lee County, the water is pretty dirty due to the lake O releases. I was wade fishing the other day about 1/2 a mile from my usual spot where there was no pinfish only to wade into thousands of them, the water was clearer, not sure if that was why. The white bait(green backs) are really small too, normally they are a lot bigger. They are almost not worth using.
The redfish are showing in bigger numbers, I've taken more keepers than snook since September 1st. Macks are still running down here too. Water is around 72 degs.
Happy hunting.

Despite a cold front that moved thru yesterday, I bundled up and hit NSP this morning 7-10. Baitfish condition much better. Landed a couple 18" ladyfish and a couple small macks - 14". Had best action with a squid spoon with at least 20 macks slashing at my spoon thoughout the morning . Also, really big pigfish biting on frozen shrimp.
