Got out to the bridge on 10/16 and ended up getting there later than I wanted to. We got setup and the bait was thick. I was able to catch more than enough 2" white bait using my cheap 6' plastic weight net. I saw a few guys grouper fishing but didn't see any come over the rails. I ended up with a limit of snapper and threw back at least 5-6 grouper in the 12-14" range. White bait out fished the shrimp that day. About an hour before dark the macks started chasing. I wasn't setup for them, but the guys next to me were slaying them. It's that time of year boys! Get out there when you can!!!

Nice!
Were the snappers on the pillars or out toward the structures outgoing? I seen quite a few sheeps on the pillars last Sunday.
Guess I'll try late afternoon, early evening next time out for macks.
Thanks for the report. GK

Out on the rocks. I didn't see any sheeps. There was too much bait to see anything around the pilings.

Very Nice! Makes me hungry. Do you free-line out to the rocks or can you cast to them?

I just use a standard setup. A 1oz weight on the mainline. Then a swivel. 18" of leader tied to a 1/0 circle hook. Cast out to the rocks and wait for the bite. Then I start cranking that handle!!

How do you keep from snagging up in the rocks? cast next to it not on it. Tears knows how to do it. Listen to what He says & try it. When the Fish Bites, You start reeling in the Fish or he will take it to the Rocks just like the Grouper does. Who's smarter, You or the Fish ? FISH ON & FILL THOSE BUCKETS & COOLERS WITH ALL OF THOSE TASTY SEAFOOD TREATS !

How do you keep from snagging up in the rocks? cast next to it not on it. Sometimes you can't help but get snagged. It's all part of the game. But you just gotta crank that handle and try to get them outta the rocks. There's been days that I've lost 10+ rigs. Other days I've only lost 1 or 2.
