Got to the SSP Friday afternoon after work. Started loading the live well with Grunts and Pins. Must of caught a dozen or better 7" Macks. It was about all I could do not to sail one of those guys out on the Diawa. Set up around 138, freelined a big grunt out about 100-125 yds. Walked him down to about 141 then back to 134, finally the Dolphin caught up and there goes that bait. Repeated 6 more times, same thing. Dolphin 7, me 0. Went down to 129 and tried for some Snapper using the small Greenies, actually my first cast netted some bigger ones than last week. Caught 8 or 10 in the 9" range, finally after moving around for a while I got into some in the 12" range. Petty much the same until around midnight or so, I whacked the head off one of the dead Grunts, stuck on a 3oz weight, and buried that bad boy near the rocks. About 2 minutes and wham, a 20" Gag. Another be-headed Grunt, and another 20". I am thinking what do I got to do to get a darn keeper. One more Grunt, this time a 23" Gag, Whoo Hoo, about time. I was starting to feel like the Rays when they had a 7 game loosing streak. Fished till 2:30 or 3:00 AM, nada. Started Saturday 6:00 AM, same routine, bait then under the pier for Snapper. Saw the macks busting the little bait so I threw a 00 spoon for a while. About 30 or so Macks in the 8"-10" range later I gave up. Had to call it an early day. Total limit of Snapper all about 12-13", one bare keeper Gag at 23". Saturday dinner was outstanding. Sorry no pics, used my camera Friday on a job site and left it at the office.

Man I give catching some Ladies a heck of a try too. I was hoping for a couple of those, maybe a keeper Mack to cut up. Like old Mac said, "I'll be back" or was that Arnie Schwarzenegger.

WTG there Jack, maybe now you and the rays can get on a winning streak. 23" for a summer gag is great.

Yeah Steve, you got that right. After 33 years of wedded bliss, I can assure you that you are 100% right. And thanks David, limiting out has not been a problem lately, just getting the size I like to keep 14" plus. I downsized Friday night, first 12" went in the box, after that I set my limit at 12". Last Friday I caught so many in the 11-11-1/2" range, I figured I better find a good hole or downsize a little. Buddy of mine told me last night that he took my bare keeper out of the cooler and layed it on the law stick and took a pic with his phone I guess. Didn't see him do it as I was down the bridge a little ways. Said that way if it shrunk up much I had a withness and a pic for the man. When he sends it I'll post it. Nothing to brag about, but it did fill the belly up nice.
