It figures this would happen the week that I'm staying down at the beach... oh well. I'll be fishing while it's not raining.

Hey! If y'all don't want me down here just say so. When I was here in June it was the wettest week I've ever experienced in FL. Now I'm back for two weeks and the first week will be wet, because of a rare summer cold front. COME ON Really?!!! LOL

YodaFisherman, We like having you here. Sorry about all the rain but we need it. We had a good dry spell for a while. Hope you can get out in between the rains. I think later in the week the rain chances will go down and or the rains will change direction and come in later in the day here on the West Coast of FL. Keep an eye on Klystron 9 radar on baynews9.com. MM posted the link. They also have an app you can download.

Shadowxmas, when I was here in June the rain didn't stop me from fishing and didn't stop the fish from biting. I caught plenty of fish. I don't mind being wet. This is the tropics after all. If my knowledge of tropical weather systems is correct the weather should become dry and calm a few days after the storm passes. The wife and I have a number of things we can do during the bad weather.

Given the water temperature has dropped off a bit, that may well perk up the fishing. Good luck to all!

One would think that the Monsoon was over once Tropical Emily had passed. I loaded up the Car with the Poles and went back in to get some cold drinks in a cooler. I open the door to go outside and it began pouring cats & dogs. I got approximately 2" more of rain here in Clearwater in about 2 hours. I guess that it was just not the day to go Fishing. Best of Luck to Anyone who tries. I am just going to sit down and have another kind of drink now that I am staying home. Fish On People !

, I'm here for two weeks. We should find time to do some of the boating we want to do. We went from the Park Blvd boat ramp up to Honeymoon Island. Took us about 4 hours round trip. We saw plenty of wildlife: Dolphins, Manatees and many bird species the wife has never photographed. I just need one day of great weather to ride over to Egmont Key. I did stumble onto a secluded spot where Snook and Reds are in the shallows of a waterway that goes into the mangroves. Also lots of small mullet are in this little waterway, I netted a few and used them in the causeway right outside the waterway and caught a few keeper Speckled Trout. This is one of those times that taking the wife places to find wildlife to photograph rewards me with a new fishing spot. So far this vacation is not a bust. I'm hoping to hit the SSP one evening, most likely early next week.

I live practically on Indian Shores/Rocks Beach. I go to the boating pier and the nature walk pier. I waited for the lightning and just threw on a pair of basketball shorts and a Under Armour shirt. Grabbed a towel for my car and off I went. Rain doesn't bother me, it's the lightning that does. I had something grab my line really hard, but it hunkered down and I couldn't get it to move. All I got was pinfish and pigfish. Was kind of a bummer, but I got a lot of bait now. I might be on the pier Saturday night. A guy from work wants to go, he has never been.
