Got to the pier about 3pm. Usual spot was taken so we tried a new one closeby. Pier was pretty much dead....must have been TOO HOT. Lots of room. Tide had just started going out so we got what little bait I could with my net (about 10 throws, had about 50 fry bait....ARGH! I gotta get a smaller mesh net). Fished the rocks and had a good hour here, slow hour there, but limited out on mangos. Also caught 5 or 6 grouper in the 13-16 inch range, a small 5 or 6 inch red grouper, and a lizardfish. Did get rocked up once, never found out how big he was, ended up breaking off. I was the only one to catch anything, the women both got skunked....heh-heh!
A couple of guys shark fishing next to us lost one of their rigs over the rail (a 6/0 extra wide on a stout little rod spooled with 1000yds of 50llb braided line) while trying to unsnag a line on another pole....they gave up fishing for it after a while, figured it was long gone with the swift current...about an hour later my neighbor caught the line as she was reeling in to check her bait and they were able to pull it back out...that was pretty cool
Biggest mango measured in at 15 inches (FAT PIG!), got a 14 and 13 incher, the rest were 11-12 inches. Also caught a couple shorties that will live to be caught another day. The only rig I used today was a 2oz egg sinker behind a 2 foot 60lb mono leader with a 3/0 shank hook, and all fish caught on fry bait.
After dark saw ladyfish busting all over but couldnt get any. Kept getting mangos instead Ran out of bait about midnight and headed home. Beautiful day on the water.

The rest of the usual suspects:
Fish fry for lunch Monday! C'mon over!!!
