come on dude. your going to sit there and say this guy gaffed a 300-400 lb Jew Fish and pulled it over the rail with 70 or so folks standing around. Did he have a portable crane in his tackle box. Get real, please.

Perhaps you and the Mackman are talking about two different fish. Which if that is the case, I owe you an apology for doubting you. As you obviously have genuine concern for the welfare of the Fish. Giving your vast knowledge of the species, how much would you say that the GG you saw weighed.

I talked to some people that pulled up a 7' lemon shark last week at the pier. They ropd the tail and hooked it to a truck and drug it up that way. Just food for thought, though I don't believe anyone drug up a 400 GG.

TJ, I talked to some guys that got a 7 foot lemon a week or so ago too...they lassoed it onto the pier, it took 4 or 5 guys to lift it up, but they didnt use a truck...saw a pic of the catch on the guys digital camera...NICE shark!

Before the Regs. kicked in my boys and me pulled several Juvies to 100-150 lbs up on the bridge. I can tell you from experience it would take a couple or three REAL BIG STRONG men to get a 3or400 up by hand.. Have seen Giants pulled up with jeeps, and trucks though... My question is WHY? Them GG's will fool ya on thier weight to... A guy brought one in to Gandy Bait N tackle once swearing it'd go 500 lbs... I mean that SOB was a GIANT! Turned out he only weighed 320 lbs. Food for thought! Personally, I think the restrictions should be lifted slightly, and create a slot limit, with a special kill tag licensing program... But that's just me... Think I'll start a Poll!

I also agree with the addition of a slot. After all, something eating size would be what you want. Gotta admit it would look pretty wild in my game room hanging up there with my deer heads.

Just before you got to them there were some guys fishing the same side that caught a 5 1/2 foot bull shark. They used their truck to drag it up the pier. I figured the other guys did the same on the lemon. Hell I wouldn't want to drag something that big up by hand. I hate dragging up a 5 gal bucket full of water never mind a couple hundred pound shark. LOL
