not to burst yo bubble jamesk.......but 300 to 350 would be a bit closer on the weight.g.g. of that size tend to be not as heavy as some may think.almost all fat.but still a good catch AND RELEASE.

Taz... I remember when you first came on this board, asking Jibronee questions, I mistook you for the original Taz. (Sctaz) And I, like most of the folks on here do, tried to answer your questions, and gladly helped you along. I guess this time there's no mistaking your latest comments. Mind your own business, and go find another Forum to ruin with your bad attitude. There was nothing wrong with the way he handled that fish. You are just jealous, that/because you are not even remotely capable of ever landing one that big. (IMHO) We have a rule here on the new Forum... NO JAGG-OFF'S ALLOWED!

Thanks SKYJAY I am glad you said that.THANK YOU everyone else for all the comments I see no problem with how it was handled either and for you TAZ that is what happens when waves push something that big on to the shore he was that close to the shore for only a few seconds perfectly legal release IF you see TAZ that in the first pic I am trying to get him back into the water and by your comment you said to KEEP MY HANDS OFF OF HIM so how was he suposed to get back into deeper water when I was fishing on flats for shark so I see you have no common sense so go trash someone elses thread Thank You and have a nice day

Well said Jay and thanks for the support. I was thinking of saying more but held back. First off, jamesk wasn't fishing for jewfish as others sometimes do and when those fish get that big I don't think they are very fragile. One brought up from over 100' is a different story.

Guess there's one in every crowd. Trashed Steve in "Concessions" for no reason also. Don't make much sense. Like I said James, nice catch and release buddy, great job and awesome fish. Wish my old back would stand up to it, I would be out there with you.

You know? I don't usually post a whole lot on here, or on the old site, especially since I haven't been to the Skyway in years. BUT I'M PLANNING ON IT!! But I just had to commend you guys for your strong ethic on this board!!! I think its GREAT! Sometimes on the old board things seemed to get way out of hand and I really think it was a bit childish and well, just plain Rude! We're all here to share & hopefully learn from each other! Not just at the Skyway..... but in general! For the sake of FISHING!! It's the Fishing that we all love, not just the Skyway, and we shouldn't let our petty emotions, bias's, and prejudices influence what goes on here! I'm glad to see you guys sticking to your guns!! I've been gone for about 10 years which is why I haven't been down there yet, but I can't wait to give it a try again! I live in southern Pasco County, so it's a bit of a trip. We want to come down early on a Sat. afternoon & spend the night & go home Sun. afternoon. I'm looking forward to getting the chance to maybe meet some of you guys, especially "SkyJay". When I look at a post, I look to see what you have to say. You seem like one HELL (don't know if I'm allowed to use that here, but I'm going to this time) of a guy!!! Very knowledgeable! Kudos to you SkyJay......... and ALL of you!! Anyhow, that’s my $0.02 cents worth, just one more thing............... TAZ....... take a hike!!
TIGHT LINES & FULL COOLERS TO US ALL!!

hahahahahahahahahaha.
just because a fish lives and swims off, it doesnt mean it was a "good" release. having a fishes side scrape on sand is NOT good. having your hands anywhere near the gills is NOT good. having a fish that big even partially support its own weight is NOT good.
its called a basic education in marine biology. dont believe me please, just look it up.
last post. you all hurt my feelings. ;D

Cmon taz stick around man. Go check out the post titled BIGCATCHER STAY OR GO
You make some good points there. When your fishing and you get excited your not allways at your best in releasing the fish. They did make an effort at a a decent release and the pics dont tell the whole story either way. Mabey you just need to soften up your punches when trying to correct somebody. Nobody likes to be told that they did wrong. I imagine that a fish that size on the beach can be difficult so lets give some bene of the doubt that they did there best and mabey next time they will have a better release on there mind. I have never caught a GG so i cant personaly commit on there release method of 1.I allways try to realese fish with as little stress as possible but the unfortunate fact is that its not allways perfect.

taz has been warned....Any more posts like that and he will not be a member here anymore. Thank you GOINDEEP. I didnt put this post here to cause problems but as we all see it has if you only knew how it happened you might look at it a diffrent way but the waves and wind helped push him that close from shore I was trying to get him back into the water as soon as possible I had 2 people taking pics so I could get as many as possible in a short period of time as you know its not easy to get something that big back into deep water especially when you are fishing on the flats

I think I'll keep what I have since the old name has had such a negative post associated with it. It says something when that was the only negative reply to jamesk's thread.
