Thought it was a fluke yesterday but today, while clicking on a thread, it redirects me to install a firefoxpatch.exe which is purely a maleware or virus. Happened twice in three days now.

Ah, that may be why my computer has been freezing and when it wakes up, usually in a minute or two, it says Norton has blocked an attack.

Yes my computer is clean. Sounds like flash needs to be updated again. The world wide web needs to rid itself of Adobe Flash. It's got way too much security problem.
Just checked and I have the latest version.

I use my phone primarily and I have gotten similar, and have been sent to the app store to install some kind of game.
I dunno, as irritating as it is, I figured some kind of way to keep this board free. Unless it IS some kind of malware.

Sometimes if there is an Update that Lingers on One's Computer, it will cause the System to Lock Up. This has happened to Me Many Times.
Like Aquaholic Said Previously, Adobe Flash is the Biggest Problem. This is what My Problem was. Java is another Instance of Upsetting the Computer. It could be from Your End or the Site's Server.
I use to work for IBM years ago back in the 1990's Supporting Microsoft Windows & when Windows 3.0 & 3.1 & then Windows 95 came out, Computers Every Where had this Computer Problem. It is basically caused from When An Update Comes Out, Other Programs become Sluggish or Just will not work because they also need to be Updated as well. This is why there are so many Updates to Computer Programs on Your PC. Sometimes it can also be caused of Not Enough Memory in Your Computer to run a Certain Computer Program. One of the Messages that May come up is: "Insufficient Memory".
Just before I began writing this Post, My computer did the Same Thing as what several of You are describing. My Virus Program said that someone was trying to access My Computer. If You have Your Computer set to Receive Automatic Updates from Microsoft as I do, Your Computer is trying to tell You to Check & See if You have Updates sitting in the Memory of Your Computer that needs to be Updated. I went to Reboot My PC & it Showed that I had Updates to Install. Security Update for Adobe Flash Player for Windows 8.1 for x64-based Systems(KB3167685)
I Clicked on Update & Restart & Now My Computer Works Fine. This Might be the Problem.
If Your PC Locks Up You can also Try This: "Ctrl + Alt + Del" & Go into the Task Manager & Click "End Task" on the "Internet Explorer" & then Go Back into the Program. This is another Fix. It just Clears out The Memory in Your PC Device.

I have had my computer freeze up almost every time I go into proboards. I hit 'ctrl, alt, del' and then 'end the task' as MM mentioned. That clears up my freeze problem almost every time.

I can't find any issues with Proboards having a problem that would cause crashes. People with computer freezes have something else going on.

My problem on my android phone is it either says I won some kind of thing OR it takes my to the Google playstore to download some stupid game. It hasn't happened as much lately. I'll keep a better eye on it since it usually ticks me off (like these spam robo calls) and I just quickly rectify the situation and move on.

It's some type of malware, I have an iPhone and every so often when I open a thread I get redirected to the App Store. If it happens again, I'll screen shot it.

It might be the photobucket site opened on another tab. I know they have malware advertised on their site for sure.

Sometime this site redirect to another site which download virus. I wonder if it's a script in the ads(ads having script to redirect) that is doing this.

I personally never had it happen, but on my pc browsers I always install adblock plus, occasionally ads will contain viruses. It's not proboards it's the ad network they use. Likely they don't qualify for adsense and have to use a second tier ad network

They make money everyone you click an ad on their site. I know a company that pays $0.12 for every click. They paid $1,200 dollars last month

Some of You that work off of a PC may want to go into Your "Control Panel" & Go to "Programs & Features" & Check for Any Programs that May Be Listed that You or Windows did not Install that Might Be Installed on Your Computer that should not be there that May Contain Adware.
Many times if You Click on a "Spam" in Your Email, it will Install a Program on Your Computer. Sometimes these Adware Programs are Installed when You Download something from another Site. If You find something Abnormal or You or Microsoft did not Install on Your Computer, Delete it.
Just Be Sure that it does not belong there before You Delete It. Then Reboot Your Computer.
Also, Keep You Virus Utility Up To Date.

Free programs I use are malwarebytes and avg. Keeping track of programs isn't a good practice MM they set the names to look legit, best thing is just close the window or tab immediately. Chrome and Firefox do offer some protection and will keep you off bad sites if you get redirected. Also I know how to save important files on a hardrive and set my computer back to the factory install anytime I get a feeling it's acting hinky. All computers have that just look it up, brand new computer

I always keep track of My Programs. One they Take up Memory & They also Let Hackers in. It has already Happened to Me about Two Years ago. Those "A-Holes" got My Personal Information & My Bank Account Info. My Bank Accounts got Hacked Twice in One Year. Since then I Delete All Unwarranted Programs that May Contain Adware.

If Your Computer is Freezing Up; Go to Off Topic & Look for: Possible Fixes for Your Internet Explorer Freezing Up
You Most Likely Need the Correct Java Program Update Installed on Your Computer. If you have looked at this before, them Look at it Again. I have just Updated the Java Installation Information.
