i kinda dont like fishin with my dad. it started raining so we left, but i made him give me 2 bucks for an ice cream from the rest stop vending machine. its become a tradition for me to get one when i leave the pier. but we're goin back later. cought a small grouper though.

ah, what a day. lots of greenbacks, people around me were catching macks, but i didnt get anything. i caught a pretty big fish on the smallest sabiki you can buy, dont know what it is, but i'll post a pic. my dad learned a lesson which he should have know already, and that it how to set your poles when the line if in the water and the pole isnt in your hands. a pelican came by and took his pole right in the water. but all is good because about 30mins later i got it with my gotcha jig. luckily it was floating. honestly i cant say i'm sorry because he deserved it. ok, thats about it, the day sucked for me so heres my mystery fish for all you smarter people to tell me what it is. oh, and everyone be warned, someone did something so nasty in the handicap stall in the last bathroom on the ssp. i wouldnt look if i were you, i just wish i didnt.

Instead of throwing that back (Runner) next time Kracker, live line it for grouper near the rocks instead, with the right tackle of course. Don't leave ur pole unattended but watch out for Flipper.

that was the first time i ever caught one of those, and it came by surprise, i just thought i had a full sabiki of greenbacks, but that came up. how do you usually catch runners? could it be just one of those bigger sabiki's?

if you're ever offshore blue runners = AJ candy
you can get big Ajs on pins or whatever else you might have but I've never seen a blue runner not get slammed by a keeper AJ.

few years ago before my father passed him and i were fishing at FT D. Gulf pier and we must have caught at least a dzn to a dzn and a half blue runners and ended up freezin them we went to the nsp two three days later and tide was commin in so i said "what the He**" and decided to throw out an old stinky frzn runner on my 4/0 with a big Circle hook and ended up catching a 5' 6" Nurse Shark that was fun on all mono leader and a circle hook...Kracker thats great bait your holdin good luck out there.

well its not that i dont really like fishing with him its just that him and i dont have that fishing bond that i'm sure most of you do with your dad. for the most part i'm perfectly happy siting out on the pier by myself.

Kracker, my father never really did anything recreational with me and everytime i tried to get him to do something he always had to go out and make some money. he has taught me a lot of stuff growing up and i will always cherish and retain however i wished i had the oppertunity to do other stuff like fishing, playing ball, bowling or even teaching me how to drive. it never happened. now that i am a father i have switched rolls and i do everything with my son. he is like my best friend we are insepereable. i know now if anything happened to me my son could be at peace and not regret not bein able to do things with me. my boy is 13 now and i know in the next few years he is gonna be driving and doing his own thing, so our times of going fishing and other things we do are going to come to an end. now it is my turn to cherish everything we do because obviously it may come to an end.

I catch them by making a little rig with mono with a 2 ounce weight on the bottom and 2 #8 eagle claw hooks seperated about 6 inches from the weight and each other. tip with shrimp. j l j l 8 j = hook l=line 8=weight
