Went to our usual spot about 8 this morning. dealt with some funky moving tides for a bit then by about 9:30 things turned on. filled the livewell with threads and pins and got started. I brought the usual dead stuff- finally have room in the freezer now! Sardines and squid. Total tally between the three of us were 40-50 short grouper with 2 keepers. They were both about 24". we got one in and one snapped after waiting 20 mins for him to come out of his home. caught a couple mango's between 12-16" and hooked up with 3 tarpon, all on dead sardines. they wanted no part of the threads we had out there. They do live some nice smelly dines next to the pilings:) but shhhh, lets keep that between us. My buddy brought in a nice large orange cone....that was interesting, and then i watched a guy in a flats boat and a man bikini fight the ocean floor for about 45 mins. pretty good day, that extra grouper would be nice. we left about 3 or so and drove through the "perfect storm". my brother in law got a video of a water spout that formed right after we drove through it. it was pretty neat. Anybody know what was going on around lunchtime? I kept hearing sirens going back and forth over the bridge. and i saw johnny law fly by us. we were thinkin it was a jumper. i was gonna ask him if he could see what kind of debris was between the spans before we rescued him:)- ok that was wrong. tightlines to all!

Jack, stay away from those Captain Mack ( I think thats the name ) of frozen dines at O'niels. They are real pretty, but got small scull's and will not stay on a hook. Probably Pacific Sardines. Sounds like you had a good day. I was wondering when they was gonna get rid of all those cones on the bridge...
