"Out on the pier, Scooter builds bait tanks, explains the importance of the moon and tides to nimrods...and orders small-minded anglers to return undersized fish to the sea."

Thank you very much for sharing that story about Scooter. I am proud to call him my friend. He is one tough hombre all about life. Plus being the best fisherman I ever met. Thanks again. Steve

I've seen him many times but did not bother him as he was doing his thing. Scooter is what many up on the northeast coast call a sharpie--------------------------------------- sharpie is someone that has a sixth sense and will catch fish when all others fail to do so. But a sharpie is not just a plain fishermen,he is someone that can read the water, know just how the tides will be at a certain spot,I should say current as fishing the piers and scoring depends alot on the speed of the current. And most importantly paying attention to what one is doing. If your going to fish then do so.From what little I know about scooter he is dedicated to his fishing. It also helps if someone can put in 70hrs plus doing ones thing. All the power to those who can afford the pier fees and the gas to get oneself there.Day time fishing is hard on all unless one wants to get a tan or burnt like a crisppu critter. And those storms pop up out of know where. But the post about scooter was great,he must live close by the piers and the rise in gas must not effect him that much. Being dissabled myself and haveing to travel one hundered miles round tripp really hurts. But for those that can fish there enjoy it as those piers are full of the unknown fish that will hit at any given time,so just being there at the right time makes all the difference in the world. Mike and the rest of the pier rats good luck and fishon as always.
