i was watching catch 47 or some other sports channel that has fishing on it and there was something about the land exemption. i dont know but i guess it was 17 years ago that they started the license for salt water fishing and the only way they could get it to pas was to make it only for boaters. and for the entire time the license has been in place they've been fighting to get the land exemption removed so that every salt water fisherman needs a license. what are your views on this, and if you know about this please correct anything i may have gotten wrong.

Kracker, see the posts under license and permit requirements. It discusses the rules you are talking about. Painter

My opinion, I think it stinks. As a boat owner, I always have a valid Saltwater license and Snook Stamp. With that said, many people who are land based are not able to afford a license and frankly shouldn't have to. It stinks when you have to pay for your God given rights. We are over taxed and regulated as it is, it's about time we just said enough is enough.

Its bad enuf on land based fisherman trying to get access to anything decent. Dont make em pay another darn tax. Some folks just dont have the money. I have had a combo fresh/saltwater with snook stamp for whew, forever. I have the original first six years of snook stamps on an ole license I kept.

I just renewed mine. $33.00 for fresh/salt plus $2.50 for the snook stamp.
