Went to ft Desoto to check out potential wading spots and then to the SSP hump bridge by 4pm. Nothing goin on there so onto the pier and...I'll tell you I ain't going back in this heat again. I mean for me its unbearable. As far as the fishing goes. well didn't expect much with the 2 tide days, but it was really slow. Saw a mack caught and a few tarpon rolling as I was driving in, but other than that all I managed to catch was a few grunts. Not even any baby gags. Saw a few regulars that use artificials and they were not gettin any hits either. These guys almost always catch gags, although most are shorts as usual. There was bait around, but nothing was chewing. Flipper was there but not very active and not really to much of a problem. I left around 10 pm, maybe it picked up a little after that, I hope so, cause the only time the pier is goona see me again is at night. Biggest problem is the water temp is probably 84+ degrees, I guess.

I hate to tell you this bigwman allbiet a long time ago but my time of working and fishing there never seen a tarpon even hoook into never seen one roll. For tarpon i would recommend the redington pier. There is a large end and lots of space to tarpon fish.
