;D i went to the safety harbor today . i only live 2 to 3 minutes from it. it was a big high tide. lots of big greenbacks a couple i caught in mynet were a foot long . well i dont know if there still greenbacks after a foot long ive never seen them that big. i caught alot of big mullet to i kept three ill eat them tomorrow. i had 3 dozen worthy greenies in the bucket. but no bites nodda. most of the greenies die after a minute or two if their left in the net. i froze them all. good frozen bait for skyway or clearwater pass. its weird. at safety harbor pier theres lots of bait but not alot of predators. all well.

I use to live right down the road from there. About half way to the power plant on the water side. I use to catch snook hardtail jacks and sharks were the most common catchers there. Small sharks that is. I remember the snook use t come out very early in the morning and chase the bait in shollow water and there backs would be out of the water. IAt was real fun to watch.

boy they really ruined that area for fishing. Used to be a great place to catch reds, snook, trout sheephead macks tarpon. and tons of crabs and shrimp The lake tarpon overflow that dumps all that "fresh" dirty water into old tampa bay has killed everything. I would not eat a thing out of there. Surprised fish do not have three eyes.
No seagrass anymore, All Muck and mud. Even the old oyster bars look like mud. Our government and army engineers at it again. It will take 50 years to get that area back.
STOP the LAKE TARPON OVERFLOW NOW!!!!
