i hear there are tons of ladyfish on the south side. where exactly and what are the best lures/baits/times of day or night? i just bought a new rod for this and want to catch n release for a few hours. i snagged a few on a topwater mirrorlure last night, but not very often

Taz, a couple weeks back they were tearing the baitfish up down by the Y on the SSP. This was at night and they were a sucker for a White and Red Gotcha. Big boys and girls too. A blast on light tackle. Hooked one in the butt and stuck it out on my big gear, no takers though.

HeY Taz, I've always caught ladys on live shrimp with a 1/0 - 2/0 live bait hook. During a slow tide, I prefer to freeline with maybe a splitshot. They do make excellent bait for big snook and shark.

i catch lady fish by truck load by freelining large shrimp, using a white and pink soft jig with a head of someting that stands out like yellow. throw itout as far as you can with a fast retrive. also dead shrimp on a jig head
