I'm open to suggestions but want to spend around $250 or so Size i'm looking for is 5000-8000 to match w/ my 7'6" St. Croix Tidemaster Inshore Rod. The 6000 and 8000 in shimano are the same size except the 8000 is lighter and hold more line (and a tad big for the rod).
Let me know what you guys have in mind! So far i'm almost sold on the STRDIC!!!!!!

i mainly target snook, reds, mangos and after fishing watching Skylar and Jessie whoop up on light tackle i might even use it for flatline or mango snapping.

Stephen its actually the Shimano, here is a pic of them all. So far i'm really leaning toward teh Shimano Stradic Stradic FI 5000 Sustain FE 8000 Saragosa 8000 Quantum Cabo

I own two Stradics (older). Both need repairs for the same apparent reason. (gears) Have you considered the Bait Runner. I own 3 and have never had a moments problem. My buddy just bought a Cabo and is in love.

i had 2 bait runners and they were both awesome, i want to get something just a little smoother and a tad lighter. my previous reel was the Daiwa BG 20 so i'm not picky when it comes to reel (that thing had no balance) but i do want a nice smooth balanced one thats why i am looking for a higher end reel.

I really like my Cabo 40's. We have several of them and all do very well for all sized fish. We also have a couple larger ones for tarpon around Boca and have never had any issues thus far. I haven't used the other ones on this list but from my experience, I'm sticking with my Cabo.

good info Lint, rich if i won the power ball last night then i'd buy all four for all of our members on this forum.... alas i was 30 minutes late to buy the ticket and settled for the Florida lottery instead.
As far as reels go i'm going to bass pro again to look at the reels in person. I'm really fixed on the 5000 Stradic! If it ain't broke don't fix it and they seem to carry that ongoing technology and improved their reels. the other thing is when i went to bass pro i put the 6000 and 8000 shimano on the rod i had and it was a little big for the rod thats why i'm going for the 5000.
Thanks again for the replys
