Headed out in the am to my usual freshwater fishing hole. Net landed for the morning was; 2- Catfish 1- Bluegill 5-6 that got away!! IMPORTANT::: Lesson learned -- when reusing the same rig / hooks / jigheads -- SHARPEN THEM! It was frustrating me that I lost so many. When I got home I figured out why. The hooks had lost some sharpness after too much use. I suspect that I am encountering the same in salt water. Especially on the gotcha lures I use. We fished the SSP from about 4 - 12 am. This time we had a crew of 9 folks. Snapper is the best fish for constant kid action! Overall a pretty good eve. Nothing as significant as the going deep report! WTG guy! Our haul for the night was pretty cool though. 1 - Red Grouper - small (for some reason my father in law has an "in" on how to catch these. He caught one at the Gandy last week!) 1 - Gag Grouper - small 6 - Lane Snapper 5 - Mangrove Snapper (2 keepers) 4- Lane Snapper 1- Black Tip Shark (36 inches) -- this one was my absolute favorite to reel in. What a fighter! 1- Jack Crevalle 3- Lizardfish Tightlines everyone! The fish are definitely out there! Fishindad

Looks like it was not a Black tip but an Atlantic Sharpnose Shark. I caught him on a large threadfin.
