Well that sucks. Hopefully we'll get some better reports for Sunday.

I was out friday afternoon and stayed till 6:30 am. Caught a blacktip about 3 ft before dark. Best fun was watching the kids from a car that was passing by, stop, come up n check the shark out. Shoulda had him for supper tonight but we released for the kids. It was cool. Only managed a couple small snapper before the tide changed. Caught a very small blacktip about 4 am and a nice flounder at daybreak. Too much wind blowin but still had a great time.

Got to the SSP around 4:30 Thursday afternoon. Bait was thick, filled my live well with big Thread Fins in no time. Moved to around the end, gulf side and started fishing for Snapper with cut bait. Medium action rod, 2/0 hook and 1/2 oz. sinker. Wind was blowing pretty bad in my face, so casting was a bit difficult. First bait in the water and a 14" Grouper, followed by another dozen in the 14" - 19" range. Then when I was about to move, a 14" Snapper followed by another and then nothing, dead. Moved around quite a bit until around 1:30 AM. Sacked out and hit the same hole around 5:00 AM. Same setup, same bait, same action. Literally a fish a cast, then zilch. Called it a day with some nice Snapper for the grill. All in all, not a bad day on the pond. (even though I didn't get a keeper grouper this time).

It is hard to catch the fish because there is so much fish. You have Trillions of baits in the water and you have 1 with your hook in it. The odds are agenst us.

Another way to look at it is that when a predator comes through the school of bait, looking for one to eat, they can all get out of the way except the one on your hook.
