Already told everybody i ran into bout this, so i gotta share with my bros on here
Went out to Fort D, and for the first time since winter no bait around, so not to be thrawted i found some old minnows lying around and cut em up real small and put them on the sabiki for some pins. Got one pinner and current pulled it off the hook, so i go back for another and i get snagged...Dang it cuz its the only sabiki i got
Well i slowly pull it up and its caught on someones line. Keep pulling and what do you know there is a roughly 23" snook on it. It was dead tho but looked really fresh, still had its color and everything. So i get my main pole and pull up the line and pull up the snook. Tried my best to revive it with my filet knife...nothing doing
But before i brought it up i wanted to get a pic for you guys just so people would believe me, but while i am fishing for the camera a couple of mommas come up to see whats up with their brother. You can barely make em out in this one pic but its the best of the lot
While i was working on it some kid comes up and i tell him what happens and he sees it was his rig. Lost it bout 30 mins. prior
Heard there was bait on the bay peir but to small to fiddle with but some people were catching snapper with em so i might try that next also saw another snook caught on my way to the car, went out to pass a grille saw some good healthy snapper pulled offa the merry pier and had a snook take a pass at my minnow i just caught on the sabiki as i was bringing it in. The jetty was dead tho not even a bite, one guy had a hit but i suspect it was a cat since he was using dead bait.
Not the best night but a cool experience none the less
