Anyone ever fish the area? The piers look pretty small, the water not very deep but Ive read decent reports from around there (snook, trout, snapper, sheeps, gags, sharks)
Anyone know if fishing along the seawall is ever productive? How about the Jetty at the south end? Any tips or advice?
Just curious

small stuff around that pier. I've seen snook stacked up under there. It has a decent undercut. It does get some depth there at high tide.

Hey goindeep, I have fished Pass a grille almost every year we've been to the beach and allways have good luck there. Grand daughter caught her first RedFish there on the beach side of the jettie. Seen the snook stacked so deep on the inlet side you coulda snagged them, lots of mangos too. Rich and family caught some short grouper around there too last year. If'n you wanna meet up there between the 26th-8/03 let me know and we'll make plans. You still have my digits?

The pass a grille jetty is a real productive place to fish. Fish during the week or real early/late. It get's ridiculous crowded on the weekends. Cast to the beach side for whiting. Lots of mango snapper around the jetty and on rock piles. A few sheeps and redfish here and there. Pompano in the pass. The usual macks, jacks, and ladyfish come through. Quite a few snook around but very spooky. Depending on time of year, the pinfish will just tear your shrimp apart, but if you have castnet, plenty of greenbacks available.
During low/slack tide, it is a dead zone. When the water is up high and moving, it can be non stop action and a ton of fun. Trust me.

yeah thats where i was limiting out on trout earlier this year. Big trout too and where i caught all my keeper snook during the season. But hes right bout it being packed, its not very big and the current wips thru there you need to have some people that know how to watch their lines to fish out there. Get some yokels that dont know what they are doing and it can ruin your game big time

4 days off and the only fishin I did was a 4 hour pit stop at the SSP Wednesday night. Thats NOT how I envisioned this little mini-vacation dammit. Looks like Im gonna be out of commission (fishing wise) until at least September, maybe a bit longer...Ill pop in the forum from time to time but I wont be around much while I focus on gettin a few personal things taken care of. Tight lines, and keep the reports and pics comin.

Sorry to here that Steve. You really aren't missing much anyway. By September-October, the BoneHeads should be showing up. Three weeks now on the no cigs, doing fine. Heard you were back on the Wagon after falling off. Hope everything goes well for ya.

Its nothin serious, I just gotta take care of a few things, gonna take a month or two, then its all systems go. I'll live vicariously through the forums til then.
Chris, Monday will be 2 weeks tobacco free, it still sucks sometimes but I got it beat.
Tyler, the move won't be until next year sometime. Stuck in lakeland til then.
Jay - no Hubbard trip for me unfortunately. I'll take one when I get back to fishin. I'll probably fish once in august, and at least once for sure when Snuke season opens, but other than that I'm gonna hold off til I get this stuff taken care of.
Fish on
