Welp it wasn't happenin today. Might have got there a bit late, it was right after the start of falling tide. First bait hit the water at 7:45am, an hour after sunrise. Fished for 3 hours, went through about a dozen pinfish, no takers. Went with a friend (first timer), and he managed to land one loner snook (his first ever) at about 8:30am, a 25 incher. Beautiful weather and the water was pretty clear. I didn't see any fish anywhere - snook or baitfish - and no birds were around at all. I guess if the baitfish aren't there, the snook won't be either. My buddy gettin his first made the trip totally worth it though. Might give it another shot Sunday morning, then its off to the SSP.

you win some and you lose some...guess that's why it's called fishing and not catching (although I could use a little more of the latter)

Yup. After talkin to Ripnlips on my way home, next time Im gonna make sure Im there a bit before a tide switch. Today I got there a bit after, and it seemed to make a difference. Last weekend the action was hot the last hour or so of outgoing in the morning. ...But bein on the beach this morning sure beat the hell out of being in Lakeland, fish or no fish

at least you broke your friends cherry, this guy i used to fish with just couldnt get one to hit. I mean it was ridiculous, there were at least 2 times where i had caught one on his pole after he shortly before gave up. Did everything i could to get him on one but those snook can be some serious teases

steve, same tide rules apply to the beach as pier!
most hits will come 2hrs before to 2hrs after a tide switch either directions!
