Its that time of year again. Kids are out of school and in the evenings and night are great times to fish. The troops and I headed out to the SSP last eve. For me fishing can be a great family event. Grandparents, kids, cousins, Mom and Dad.... we all get involved. Set up a table with shade and a box fan, even Grandma gets out there. Last night we hit it for about 4 hours and it did not disappoint. There are times the shorty grouper get frustrating BUT they are alot of fun on a small ugly stick meant for Snapper. The neatest thing on the trip were 2 baby tarpon hooked. At first we thought they were ladyfish but as they got closer, it was obvious they were not. We all were pretty excited. Both were caught by accident and got off before we could get a photo op. Our haul for the eve was 1 Gag Grouper - small 4 Red Grouper - small 2 Tarpon (babies) 1 Mack - into the icebox 1 Grunt - into the icebox All in all a great time. I also go to use my new "keepalive" areator. WOW what a difference vs the bubblers. --- Oh and yes... in the photo below... Jimmie Johnson IS going to take the circuit this YEAR!!! Tightlines everyone! Fishindad
