Went out to the SSP this morning from 7:30 - 11:30 to drown some baits. Started off real hot then immediately the bite was non-existent. First bait in the water, bam 13" mango in the cooler. 2nd bait in the water, bam 16" trout. he looked skinny so I threw him back. Caught another trout about the same size about 15 minutes later and then it was dead; not even the pinfish seemed interested in the sardines (except for the eyes). Moved on to another area and immediately hooked up with a 12" mango that went in the cooler. Caught two more near the same area but they were kinda puny so I threw them back to. Debated on moving to another spot but decided to call it a day. it was getting toasty and there was not much of a breeze. Not a stellar day but it was better than work!

You did better than we did yesterday BigDawg. I got maybe 4 short grouper and an 11" grunt in 16 hours. Gonna go back tomorrow, I figure the bite should be better without 50,000 people on the pier.

It was definitely packed today. One minute I was alone, the next I have 6 neighbors. Lots of boats too but no sign of flipper! :-)
