No bueno! Got skunked again. Got there at 3pm for outgoing tide. Can’t find bait anywhere on the North side. Saw big threadins bait started showing up around 5pm. Water was weedy and a bit dirty. I did land one lonely residential Mac on a silver spoon.
Saw a few guys trolley for kings but didn’t see any hook up. I did see two bonitas in an ice bucket under a truck. Heard maybe it was being used for a Goliath grouper.
Went home with 7 dozen crabs and 2 dozen shrimp.
South side reports say bonitas was being caught at the end of the south pier using bait and chumming them up. No Mac’s reported.
Good luck to everyone but I am retiring for the year. Maybe I’ll see everyone for the fall run.

Also some gave me a small Jack crevelle. It was lying on the floor for 10 mins. I try to brain it, bleed it and ice it as quick as I can. Fillet it when I got home and cut out the middle section of dark meat. sashimi up the slices and try it with some kikkoman ponzu soy and sriracha. I’m no sashimi expert but meat seems firm. No fishy odor. If you give me this at a sushi restaurant, I would not know what kind of fish it is and just eat up the whole thing. I end up eating the whole loin and the more I dip it in the ponzu sauce, the more I enjoy it.

Dirty water is back ! Days getting hotter faster! My prediction is if the water cleans up and the tides line up we will get one final push of productive fishing before the summer lull moves in and then it’s strictly night time snapper fishing for me for a while. If you didn’t get out there this spring you missed a great run this year. More kings just in the last few weeks than I’ve heard off of the ssp in years. Hopefully they’ll be back for the fall !
