We got to the pier at 8:30 AM fished until 1:30 PM. Caught 1 mac, lost 1 mac, Seen 3 other fishermen catch 5 macs total. Had a good incoming tide but the wind was a real problem. Over the coarse of the day we fished from the beginning of the pier to the very end of the pier. We fished the SSP Tues. 4/09

8:30? I'm usually about ready to go home at that time. Doesn't take long to find out if macks are there, and I can cover all my good spots in around 2hrs just to be sure I'm wasting my time

I too attempted fishing on the 9th, was as SSP 11:30 to 4:00, near tide change to outgoing placed one spanish mac in the cooler and lost one little later after an 8 second fight, struck near surface, would of been a nice duo. Other than that, flipper made an appearance about the same time, makes sense, and saw massive pod of rays pass by so the water clarity was pretty good. Aside from a little windy, seems it should have been a much better day.

Did anyone try bait or was strictly on spoon/lures? I sometime toss out a half sabiki rig to see if they are around.
Asking for a friend….😅

Bay pier Fort desoto outgoing tide has been producing ladyfish and pompano. No macs. Windy and rainy tomorrow…not sure how dirty the water will be for this weekend…

I believe over the next few weeks the night fishing will pick up tremendously. Late night limits on mangos coming soon
