Ended up with a mess of silver trout, caught 4 Mack’s, one big one in the low 20s missed a monster mack in the high twenties, hooked zero snook and landed zero snapper but did catch 3 pompano but only one keeper
There was a lot of action today although the Mack’s were sporadic and traveling in pairs, there was tons of big blue runners and ladyfish all up and down the pier, and there is definitely some pomp’s around, myself and a group of others saw a school of 7 or 8 gigantic 15-20lb bluefish. They were swimming in a tight ball on the surface, they passed a couple of times with tons of people throwing at them but didn’t see anybody hook up. Did see a gentleman hook a 100+ lb tarpon though and that’s always a sight to see

Sounds like it was a much better day than I would have anticipated. How did the water look? Cleaner? This might make me go out tomorrow morning.
Did they throw bait at the bluefish or spoons?

I saw what you were talking about with the water when I first arrived at night, it started to clear in the morning but was still ugly until the incoming tide brought some cleaner water and action picked up in the afternoon, I didn’t see anybody throw bait at the blues just spoons and gotchas. I dropped a pomp jig infront of their face when they swam under me so that I could get cut off hahaha
