I believe I read in one of the posts that the fees collected to use the pier were for the maintenance and preservation of the S.S. Pier as a state park. We need to find out is that a factual statement and if so why have these funds not been used for that purpose since the piers were opened. If we can show that the monies collected have been diverted and spent for other purposes, I believe then we can generate some interest on the part of our political representatives. We need some investigative reporter that can look into this and get the information. Painter

I saw a post on another thread somewhere... I believe Filetnrelease posted it. It was a newspaper article about the Pier closure, and at the bottom there was a name, and number for the reporter. We could try calling him, but I can't remember what thread it was on.
