Hey folks. Recently had a mentally challenged family member transfered to a group home near Lake O. As it looks like Imona be spending time down there I thought a nice outing/picnic every now and then might do her some good. Anyone on here have any tips? Mainly interested in land based bank fishing for panfish thanks in advance.

1. Look out for the Huge Snakes down there at the Lake. I hooked on one day & He took My Rod with him. He was bigger than Me. No Argument here with him.
2. Alligators like Fish too. They are Big down there. 12 to 16 feet long with Very Large Teeth. I hope that You are well enough to run. I use to stay & fish at the Lake & I found out that Alligators will take Your Fish. If You see an Alligator with most of His tail gone, His name is Stubby. He is the one that took My Fish. Alligators are just like the Dolphins in the Gulf.
Good Luck & Fish On SkyJay !

Jay, I for one think the big O is to much of a chemical holding pond to even touch, I do see a lot of local people who fish the ditches along 41 on the east side, Cane pole and worms! lots of places your family can sit in the car and fish.

The boat ramp near Roland martins marina has some dock and bank fishing opportunity. Also tons of access points along alligator alley to fish the canals. Lots of good bass and exotic species in those canals. Tons of panfish, oscars, cichlids on beetle spins and such. Also catch some peacock bass in the canals along alligator alley

Love shiners about 2-3” is the bait of choice around south Florida. Catch largemouth, peacocks, Oscar, and cichlids on them. Usually instant action if you’re in a good spot

I don’t know about you all. But there is something about fresh water fishing that I just love. Maybe it’s a kid thing. Those first sunnies I caught. Sorry. Bluegills
